Hindsight

Looking out of your window or your windshield doesn't always show the most promising view. My brother snapped this picture of the sunset in his mirror while out in the distance it is dark and dreary. I thought it would make a most interesting painting in my "reflection" series.

Butterfly - SOLD

When we think of butterflies we think of a fragile creature. Though I think of a bold creature. To even get out of it's cocoon  it has to fight it's way out of the shell. But without this struggle, it would never be able to fly. I love to look at the gracefulness  the beauty, the wonder of a butterfly. They are so unique in all they are!! Still Life of water and flowers

This picture is a little hard to comprehend, at least I think it is. It is actually a glass of water with a two stems of flowers hanging out of it. I have developed a fascination with black and white. I will try to spend more time on this to figure out how to make it more obvious. My goal at this time is that I post to my blog daily. Leave a comment for me if you have any suggestions on how to make the picture more evident.

Vino -- SOLD

"Vino" ....Need I say more? Who doesn't love a glass of wine? I have never done glass in a painting. I believe that  I will improve on in the technic but I thought this first attempt was pretty good. I almost didn't do this painting because I sometimes feel that a glass of wine, grapes and wine bottles are sort of over done, but I did it anyway!! Purple Daisies -- SOLD

"Purple Daisies" is another painting on Artist Trading Card Stock (2.5"x 3.5"). It was quick and simple. I do however want to go back and paint this again on a larger scale and take my time with detail. It seems that I love to look at flowers but painting them is a skill in itself. $5.00

Majestic Flight

Majestic Flight is another of the Artist Trading Card (2.5" x 3.5") paintings that I chose to do. These little cards are SO much fun to paint! Here is an eagle at flight. This painting is done with using only Red, Blue, Yellow and White just as I said I would. Learning to mix colors is educational. I am learning to see that depths of colors that you don't find in pre-mixed colors.   $5

Sky Line

This was a fun Daily Challenge about the sky. I chose to try a new "canvas" by using Artist Trading Cards. I found these while I was exploring the store. They are 2.5 x 3.5". I felt like this was a good size since I want to focus on a painting a day. I think that I am going to make a few sets and then mat them together in a frame.   $10

Apologies to everyone that is following my blogs. I had a death in the family that has prevented me to paint and post. But, that is behind me. Today I am going to do what a dear friend has recommended to me....paint with limited colors on my pallet so that I can learn the scope of each individual color and what it can do when mixed with others. That said, I will be using primary's and white only. Yep!! Red, Blue, Yellow and White ONLY!! Not even black. Now that is a tad scary. I am so looking forward to my lessons!!  Stay tuned.

Life is an adventure! Life is a journey! Life is always moving!! There are good days and there are bad days. Such as in art, too. I have been spending some time in watercolors and have decided that it is not my strength. I even went to the library and picked up some books on how to use watercolors. Well, I believe that oils are my best working medium. HHHMM....guess it is time to stretch up a canvas or two, invest in some small canvas panels and get to using the medium that I am best in and seem to be happier with the finished product. Birch Trees

The great thing about art, is that you can create anything you want and it is ok. "Birch Trees" were just that. Using the memories in my head and painting on some paper. Watercolors are not a medium that I am particularly good at, but practice makes perfect!! And I had a great deal of fun doing this 8x10 this afternoon. Hope you like it.

Fun in the Sun

"Fun in the sun" is painted on a 9x12 Premium Artist Canvas Panel. This is my first attempt at a black and white painting. Using only two colors on an entire painting was fun, scary and definitely a learning experience. I will do another B&W real soon. $85.00
